Summer is settling in Sweden. Gothenburg is preparing for the summer celebrations beginning with Midsummer, and Gothenburgers are planning their summer holidays.
It is also the time to take note of change in timings of buses and trams in and around Gothenburg aka Göteborg run by Västtraffik. There will be more boats to the archipelagos from the city centres to enable the residents, visitors and tourists to have a quick and easy journey.
Time to commute with the new summer 2018 time-table again!
“From 18th of June we will change the summer timetable for most of our lines. At the same time, we are committed to doing improvement work on some of the lines. For current information, find your trip in the Travel Planner the app (Reseplaneraren) or read on Vasttrafik.se,” says Västtraffik.

The changes to the public transport operated by Västtraffik are due to construction activities of urban development projects, and renovation.
The change in time-table of the public transport also applies to the boats. Västtraffik says “Boats to the southern archipelago run according to their summer schedule with more departures from 4 June until 26 August, ie a longer period than other traffic runs according to the summer time table. This gives better opportunities to the archipelago during the summer.” For example: 114 Ö-snabben Saltholmen-Brunnsparken – June 4 to June 17 and August 20-26, the Ö-times times adapted to the times of the boats to and from the southern archipelago from the summer charts of the boats. This is to give the travellers good connectivity.
Ö is one of the 29 Swedish letters, and also a word. Ö means island (en ö – ön – öar – öarna: an island – the island – islands – the islands).
Because more commuters use Bus Numbers 16 and 25, and also the busiest in Gothenburg, there will be more buses in the morning and afternoon in the weeks 25, 26 and 33. There will be change of times to the bus service from Gothenburg to Borås from 18 June to 19 August.
