The members of InterNations gathered at the Clarion Hotel Post by Central Station in Gothenburg, and many attendees made their presence in costumes evoking a Hollywood movie shoot. Members were dressed up as variously as Pirate Man, Cleopatra, Miss Adams, Black Widow, Dracula, The Scream Phantom, Haunted Lady, Wizard, and Zorro.
Lucia Sten, the ambassador of InterNations, warned before the start of the party: “If you refuse this invitation something awful may happen…You’ll miss out all the fun! Join us if you dare for a Halloween scare. Clarion Post will host our Halloween Costume Party on Friday, 26 October and the BEST COSTUME wins a prize!”
Who wore the best costume for the Halloween Party? Linda Rivera, the Peruvian financial advisor based in Gothenburg (felicity in Russian, Italian, English & Swedish), was chosen by the attendees as the best-dressed member for the Halloween Party. She was dressed up as Cleopatra. She disclosed that she dresses up as Cleopatra for parties depending upon the occasions. Christian, one of the attendees, is an amateur historian, and wondered which Cleopatra? In history, the descendants of Cleopatra were many and at a conservative estimate there are more than a dozen Cleopatras! However, the Dracula to the Haunted Lady to the Pirate has stunned the guests of the hotel in addition to the InterNations with their attire and spirits.
A prize was presented to Linda Rivera to an applause from the attendees. The party was on the second level of Clarion Hotel Post in the exuberant Bon Bon Baren that echoed with the live music in the background. The live music was from the British saxophonist Dan Blaax and DJ Valter Arnborg.
Pratik Upadhyay was the official photographer for the party and he captured many moments of the event. It was the last InterNations event for Raghu Sharma, one of the ambassadors of InterNations in Gothenburg. Sharma is moving out of Sweden to Austria where he was offered a position in his chosen professional which has more potential and pay and privilege.
More than 50 members representing more than 30 countries (Syria to Singapore to Sweden, Uganda to Ukraine to USA, the Gambia to Germany, Brazil to Bosnia-Herzegovina) were present. In the place of Raghu Sharma, Feraso Abboud the Syrian-Swedish will be one of the new ambassadors of InterNations in Gothenburg.
